Voted to Force Taxpayers to Pay for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

SB 1002
"Relating to the operation of public electric vehicle charging stations."

ERCOT, which catastrophically failed Texans not long ago, estimates Texas will have one million electric vehicles on the road by 2028 - putting an even greater burden on the Texas grid.

In consultation with a number of stakeholders, including governmental entities, utilities, service providers, and advocacy groups, to ensure that all Texans can travel by electric car all across Texas.

Nearly a half billion of your federal tax dollars will be used for this, plus your state tax dollars. S.B. 1002 seeks to establish this statewide framework to encourage the deployment of public electric vehicle charging stations.

There were two key votes on this bill. A Yea vote for either one allowed this bill to move forward.

NOTE: Kitzman voted for one of these, which allowed it to move forward.
