Voted to Let San Antonio Use State Taxpayer Money for Local Projects

SB 2220
"Relating to the authority of certain municipalities and local government corporations to use certain tax revenue for certain qualified projects."

Do you want your tax money to be given to the city of San Antonio to enhance a couple of buildings? Is that what's best for Tyler? Or Plano? Or Brownsville?

Isn't that a local issue for San Antonio?

Too often, lobbyists seek state money (your hard-earned tax dollars) to pay for local projects. It's wrong - but many Republicans are willing to spend your money for you.

There were two key votes on this bill. A Yea vote for either one allowed this bill to move forward.
