Voted Against Pro-Citizenship Amendment

HB 1268 establishes the Texas Technology and Innovation Program within Chapter 489 of the Texas Government Code. The primary goal of the program is to stimulate job creation and promote economic development across the state by supporting small businesses engaged in cutting-edge research and innovation.

Rep. Tony Tinderholt offered an amendment to ensure that those companies that benefitted from the bill had "not less than 75 percent of the entity's employees be United States citizens."

That seems right, doesn't it? Not according to Democrats and some Republicans who voted NAY on the good amendment.
