Agreed with Democrats on Democrat Bills More than a Democrat
In the previous session, House of Bad Cards showed you what we call the disagreements - a way of seeing who it is that a legislator agrees and disagrees with most in their respective chamber.
Does a Republican side more with Democrats than fellow Republicans? We think that's a good question to ask.
This session, in addition to that, we wanted to answer that question when just looking at just Democrat-authored bills. What we learned was astounding. We have 31 Republicans who agree more with Democrats than Terry Canales, the Democrat who agreed least with his fellow Democrats on Democrat-authored bills.
Rep. Canales agreed with Democrats on Democrat bills 81.73% of the time.
What Republican would agree more with Democrats on Democrat bills than a Democrat?
The districts labeled in dark blue show those who are "Republican" and agree more with Democrats on Democrat-bills than a Democrat does.
GOP Platform Conflict: Preamble and Principle 3 emphasize distinct conservative philosophy. Plank 214 encourages the Senate and House Caucuses to adopt and publish priorities, and by implication support, priorities in line with those of the Republican Party of Texas.
